Bluewater Trolling -Wahoo, Tuna, Mahi Mahi & Marlin

Wahoo, Tuna and Mahi Mahi offer incredible fun when on the troll. We have a range of lures that have been developed over decades on the water that are highly appealing to these species. On charter we quite often set a full spread of Nomad Lures that cover nearly every presentation for these species, as well as for any marlin that come along. Our preferred spread consists of:-

  • DTX 200 in the short flat position
  • DTX 200, 140 or 165 on the long flat
  • Maverick 230 roughwater on the short rigger, set back at least 40 metres
  • Riptide 200 sinking or 265 on the long rigger
  • madscad 150 or madscad 190 on the shotgun rigger position

These lures all have very different actions, and all complement eachother extremely well when set in a spread. All of these lures can also be rigged for chasing marlin or very large tuna by using assist rigs from the belly and tail towpoints of these lures. See our Youtube video for all the info on how to rig for Marlin and large tuna.
